Client's perspectives

During February 2023 I met with an accident which ultimately led to the loss of my lower left leg. I was left with a large area of scarring on my left thigh where surgeons had removed areas of tissue, muscle and veins in an attempt to avoid the amputation. Because of immobility whilst recovering I lost some of the range and strength of the muscles in both legs. Add to this a previous shoulder injury which suffered from lack of its regular maintenance and you can see I was in need of assistance outside the availability of the NHS. Cue Emma Cliffe.

Emma worked hard with me to build muscle strength, extend the range of movement and relieve aches and pains with regular massage and treatment over a period of time. Once the scars healed sufficiently to be able to be treated, Emma began to work to reduce to size and appearance of the scars on my leg and thigh. This has significantly improved these areas and continues to do so with the ongoing treatments.

Another area concerning me was the discomfort and pain in the lower area of my amputation which Emma identified as scar tissue under the skin associated with the bottom of my calf muscle which had been severed. Emma has worked on this area to great effect and now the pain and discomfort has all but ceased allowing me greater use of my prosthetic limb.

At a recent review of my rehabilitation, the surgeon commented on how well the scars are healing, which he attributed to Emma's handiwork and was impressed and pleased Emma had discovered and treated the scar tissue which was causing me problems and encouraged further treatment from her.

I want to say a big thank you to Emma for all she has done and continues to do to assist my ongoing recovery. THANK YOU!

During the consultation, Emma really heard what I was saying, and tailored the treatment to my needs. The massage itself was deeply relaxing. The following evening I had a record breaking amount of deep sleep (just over three hours!). My muscle tension was eased and my nervous system feels more soothed that it has done in months. Emma struck the perfect balance of sensitivity to my chronic health issues and limitations, making me feel at ease and in good care.

I will definitely book another treatment in the future.

I had pain in my shoulder for some time and movement was restricted. Thanks to Emma's magic hands, the pain has gone and the movement is back to full range. She's also fixed various other issues I've had when doing too much in the gym.

Just wanted to thank Emma for another brilliant massage. Whatever issues I have gone to Emma with, she has always sent me off feeling so much better. I appreciate that she takes the time on each visit to make sure she knows what I've been up to and whether there are any health issues that she needs to know about. Best of all is the venue. The Shepherd's Hut is in a lovely location and is a very relaxing place to be. I'd definitely recommend Emma Cliffe Holistic Massage Therapist.

I can't recommend Emma enough as she is really understanding of both your physical and wellbeing needs. Emma is helping me with my neck, back and shoulder issues in between my chiropractor visits to help me stay mobile at work with less discomfort! Thanks Emma.
